Study
Build strong foundations in Computer Science or Statistics and apply them through practical and research-led study.
Since 1996
Education, research, and community outreach in Computer Science and Statistics.
Overview
The department conducts courses in Computer Science and Statistics for the B.Sc. study programme and contributes to several four-year study pathways. Programme regulations, combinations, and selection requirements are owned by the Faculty of Science.
Visit the Faculty of Science study programme for current regulations and programme information.
Four-year study
Students who follow Computer Science in the first two years may be selected competitively to specialise in years three and four. Advanced study is designed for students who are self-directed, curious, and ready to work at greater depth.
The honours pathway includes an extended research project and a period of industrial training. Current selection rules and curriculum details are published by the Faculty.
Four-year study
Students who follow Statistics in the first two years may be selected competitively for advanced study in years three and four. The programme develops theoretical understanding alongside statistical modelling, analysis, computing, and applied problem-solving.
The honours pathway includes supervised research and industrial training, subject to the current programme regulations.
Interdisciplinary study
The department contributes specialised course units to Statistics and Operations Research and Applied Sciences pathways. These programmes connect quantitative methods, computation, and industry-facing applications with study offered across the Faculty.
